  2. When did it happen • The invasion of the middle east began on March 19th 2003. • The order was gave by former president George W. Bush

  3. Major Events In The War(Battle of Nasiriyah) • In 2003 a firefight happened that was soon named the Battle of Nasiriyah. Were and army convoy was ambushed and marines came and attempted to take two bridges. In that they push to secure them and in all marines suffered friendly fire from A-10 warthogs. 32 killed, 60 wounded, 6 captured. The most costliest battle in the war.

  4. Major Events in the War(The Capture of Suddam) • December 13, 2003 during operation Red Dawn, where US. 4th infantry division, and Special forces captured Saddam Hussein. They found him in a spider hole and he was taken without a shot. This was a major victory for the US. Saddam Hussein

  5. Major Events in the War(Battle of Fallujah) • March 31, 2004 four Blackwater agents were killed and the first battle began, It ended on May 1st 2004 that year. The insurgents won but they lost 148, and the coalition forces only lost 27. A second battle was soon to follow in November and December.

  6. Major Events in the War(The Second Battle of Fallujah) • The second battle of Fallujah began on November 7th 2004, It ended on December 23, the coalition forces won with there causalities at 107 killed and 613 wounded. It was the last battle fought in Fallujah.

  7. Major Events in the War(Operation Red Wing) • On June 28, 2005, a seal team went behind enemy lines to take down a high value target

  8. Major Events in the War(Al Aksari Mosque blow up) • On February 22, 2006 Al Aksari Mosque was blown up leaving the golden dome in ruins. It was part of a rivalry with two religious groups.

  9. Major Events in the War(Operation Swarmer) • This mission was a massive attack on insurgents that began on March 16th 2006. it was the second largest air assault in the war.

  10. Major Events in the War(Saddam Hussein is Hanged) • On December 30, 2006, Saddam was handed in public for his war crimes.

  11. When did it End • The Iraq war ended on December 11th, 2011, by President Obama. We are still in the middle east but just left Iraq.

  12. Who Won • No one really won. We pulled out, the insurgents never surrendered or were overthrow. If the War was measured by casualties, the Coalition forces (us) would have won

  13. Weapons used • Army: M4 Carbine, M16A2 rifle, M249 SAW, M240 BRAVO, SMAW, AT4 • Marines: M16A4 Rifle, M203 Grenade Launcher, M240 BROVO, M249 SAW, SMAW, 60 mm Mortar, 105 Howitzer, 155 Howitzer • Insurgents: AK-47, RPK Machine guns, RPG, IED, VBIED, Mortars
