The Number One Agenda… Goal 1 July 6, 2011: Executive Director George Reid provided direction for the staff of Diversity and Outreach to further implement activities aligned with closing the statewide achievement gap identified in the Illinois Public Agenda for Career and College Success. The project, as identified by Dr. Reid, involves a one-year unit plan as follow-up to the “90 DayProject” which identified and helped to re-enroll students who were in good academic standing, but stopped out of college and yet needed to complete a college degree. The “One Year Project” was designed to develop philanthropic resources to assist in the continued educational opportunity of Illinois students through the completion of certification and degree attainment.

The Number One Agenda… Goal 2 • Work with college and university leaders to add at least three dual credit programs to their current offerings • Further the implementation of the Dual Credit Quality Act by adding review procedures • Prepare a research article and presentation on expansion of dual credit in conjunction with Academic Affairs staff and Illinois Education Research Council staff • Prepare and deliver a presentation that justifies the benefits of expansion of dual credit programs toward achieving the goals of the Public Agenda for College and Career Success
The Number One Agenda… Goal 2 • Work with college and university leaders to add at least three dual credit programs to their current offerings • Academic Leadership presentations • Provide information for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) dual credit expansion: • Along with Dr. Elaine Johnson providing information for CPS • CPS has greatly expanded opportunities in partnership with the City Colleges • They have launched a website for promoting it: https://www.chooseyourfuture.org/dual-enrollment-program
The Number One Agenda… Goal 2 b) Further the implementation of Dual Credit Quality Act by adding review procedures • Reviewed last year’s results with Academic Affairs staff • The most apparent gaps were found in faculty qualifications and integration with existing academic programs • The current survey results are pending

The Number One Agenda… Goal 3 Refinement Committee • Purpose of the Refinement Committee is to improve the performance funding model. • This will be accomplished by: • Identifying ways the model itself can be improved (i.e. Step 4 – Scaling) • Refining the definitions for the measures as well as the subcategories • Identifying more current data, data that is more refined, and better sources of data • Adding appropriate measures and sub-categories to the model
