Provisional MICE SCHEDULE update: June 2013 m Run date: STEP I EMR run Oct 2013 (possibly w/o field: Q2 2014) Q1 2015 to Q1 2016 STEP IV Under construction: STEPVI Target date Q3 2019 Step V run possible 2018 Resource Loaded Schedule -- MIPO’s hard work! Slip since october 2012 = 2 months
Important decision points -- September 2013: installation of return yokes for step IV? last VC: --original motivation of baseline plan is to run step IV before Q3 2014-gone -- was not certain that tracker readout could be properly shielded (cryocooler, electronics) without return yoke + what else? -- cost/sched. implications of yoke implementation to be understood internal MICE discussion TODAY Presentations represent work since WG was set up in 2011/2012 EB tomorrow will still need to understand some more about resource loading the retrun yoke option project manager (MIPO) + EB next week. review in 23-24 September -- Around summer 2015 : -- decision point for possible step V stop-over in 2017-2018 -- implementation of full return Yoke for step V/VI

Hardware status 1. EMR construction complete (drink in Geneva tomorrow at 14:00) shipping early next week arrive RAL ~23 September run in October (week-ends) Shifters welcome. (See MOM report) 2. SS2 shipping imminent (preparing magnet for shipping) ETA: end Sep13) 3. SS1 started training but some teething problems (HTS lead? Warming up) 4. AFC1 quesnched at 187.77A on Aug16. (acceptance is 188….) This magnet does not pass acceptance for other reasons AFC2 to arrive at RAL end of september for testing. 5. Decay solenoid had a burned cold lead: requires opening and surgery. no DS for EMR run will be repaired during the Xmas shut-down 6. «TIARA»: installation and test of of first Amplifier in MICE hall going on to be ready to run in November – EMR run organized to minimize interference:
