Status of formulation of C-DAP • DAPU, BAPU and VAPU constituted involving PRI’s, stakeholders & line depts. • Bottom-Up approach from village level to zilla parishads. • RKVY workshops with concerned ZP’s, Panchayet Samities, Village Panchayats etc. completed. • C-DAP for South & West Tripura approved by ZP, North and Dhalai likely to be approved by ZP in August 2008. • Training of trainers at NIRD, Guwahati.

Mode of preparation of Stream-I Project Proposals The Stream-I Project Proposals are prepared based on the wish list generated from the GP’s/ VC’s / Panchayet Samities / Zilla Parishads keeping in view of the overall Perspective Plans of the Sector at State level The break-up of Stream - I projects (2008 – 09)
Performance of RKVY under stream –I during 2007-08 Agriculture Department : Rs. 330 lakhs • Sites selected for 10-nos. Mini Bio-Fertilizer Labs; estimates • prepared and procurement of equipment is in progress. • b) Locations for Vermi compost pits finalized in consultation with the PRIs.
Fishery Department : Rs. 60 lakhs • Tender formalities for construction & development of research laboratory at Udaipur finalized • Development of Fish Feed Analysis Laboratory at Kumarghat & Udaipur under process. ARDD Department : Rs. 50 lakhs In view of the recent bird flu outbreak in some locations of the state, Director (ARDD) has requested for a change in the project already approved by the SLSC to a new one. Accordingly, the said proposal would be placed before the next SLSC meeting for approval.
Status of State Seed Farms • In 2000-01, the state was totally dependent on other states for certified seeds. • The state achieved self sufficiency in different categories of seeds of Paddy; Mustard and Pea / Lentil by 2005-06. Contd…
Status of State Seed Farms Contd…… • From 2006-07 onwards, the state is exporting surplus HYV paddy & mustard certified seeds to other states through NSC. • The state will achieve self sufficiency in different categories of seeds of Pulses & Oilseeds by this financial year and expects to export quality seeds of Pulses & Oilseeds from 2009-10 onwards.
Unique features of RKVY in Tripura • SLSC constituted and schemes approved at State level, with the expertise from Ministry of Ag & Planning Commission. • Bottom UP approach reflecting the felt needs of the people in the Rural areas. • In house expertise resulted in preparation of CDAPs, without engaging any consultant from outside.
Agriculture : Strategies • Implementation of ten-year Perspective Plan for achieving self-sufficiency in food grains (2000~10). • Increase in Productivity of cereals ( through SRI ) and economically remunerative crops. • Self-sufficiency in HYV certified seed production. • Improvement of Soil health through Organic manures. • Exploitation of full irrigation potential. • Adequate flow of Credit. • Training & re-training of farmers & extension workers. • Development of Marketing facilities. • Involvement of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRI’s).

HORTICULTURE : Strategies • Implementation of 10 year Perspective Plan for Phenomenal change in production pattern of Fruits, Vegetables, Plantation crops, Spices to meet the growing demand in the region. • Production of TPS tuberlet from 120 ha to cover 2250 ha in 2009-10 under hybrid potato.

Jyoti) from Stage – I to bring 750 ha under the crop in 2009-10. • Seed production of major vegetable crops of HYV’s over two seasons to achieve 30% replacement with subsequent increase over the years to become self sufficient. HORTICULTURE : Strategies Contd.. • Production of quality planting materials of fruits, vegetables & flowers in hi-tech green house through out the year. • Staggered pineapple plantation following cluster approach, and chemical induction to ensure more than 90 % fruiting to sustain supply for 8 months from thousand hectares.

Augmentation of Egg production: • Rearing of Low Input Technology birds at Household level in backyard system after rearing chicks/ducklings for a month at Block level Brooder houses. • Protection of Poultry/duck from vaccine preventable diseases & large scale infestation of worms by organizing camps at Panchayet level.
Fisheries : Strategies • Implementation of Perspective Plan for self-sufficiency in fish. • Utilization of all available water areas for fish culture. • Providing proper guidance for fish culture. • Involving SHGs/ Cooperatives/ Tribals/ Women in the activity through entrepreneurship development. • Development of essentially required infrastructure.
