District 8 Coaches are responsible for their team adhering to District 8 rules and policies. Managers with rule and policy questions will be directed to contact their Coach. Coaches should direct any unanswerable questions to the appropriate District 8 staff. Don’t leave your manager in the dark! Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 General Information • All District 8 information and rules can be accessed on www.stickstats.com. • All league fees must be paid before a team can participate in any post-season play. • All post-season fees must be paid before a team can participate in the next season. • All teams must complete the USAHockey registration process with the District Registrar before they can be on the ice with any other team. District 8 General Information • Inter-Division and Inter-Classification play • No play allowed between divisions, Squirts vs Peewees, Bantam vs Jr. Gold, etc. • No play allowed between classifications, Squirt A vs Squirt B, Peewee A vs Peewee C, etc. • Clarification: B teams are B teams for any function. So, B1 teams could play B2 teams at the same division. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 General Information • Non-Conforming Teams • No District 8 team can schedule any on-ice hockey event with any team identified by the District 8 Director or Registrar as a team that has not complied with Minnesota Hockey’s registration/waiver policies. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 General Information • Boys & Girls High School Tryout Caution • Be aware that players trying out for High School teams can not participate in any Association hockey events during their High School tryouts until they are notified that they did not make a High School team. • Usually applies to Bantams and Girls 14U players. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Team Travel Rules • Mites and Girls 8U teams cannot play outside of District 8 and cannot play teams from outside District 8 without District Director approval. • All other teams must notify the District Director prior to leaving Minnesota to play any team. • All other teams must obtain a travel permit from the USAHockey Registrar prior to leaving the United States to play any team. District 8 Spare Player/Goalie • District 8 League Games Only • If a team is short players, review and complete the online Player Substitute form. Pay special attention to the rules listed on the form. • All Minnesota Hockey Games • If a team is short goalies, review and complete the online Goalie Substitute form. Pay special attention to the rules listed on the form. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 League Games • League Game Dates (inclusive) • 11/11/13 to 2/9/14 - PW A, B1, BN A, B1, 12U A, B • 11/11/13 to 2/9/14 - Girls 14U A • 11/25/13 to 3/2/14 - Squirt A, B, C, Girls 10U A, B • 11/25/13 to 3/2/14 - Peewee B2, C, Bantam B2, C • 12/5/13 to 3/16/14 - Junior Gold B • No games can be scheduled for 12/24/13, 12/25/13, 12/31/13, 1/1/14, 2/2/14 • Be careful scheduling games between 12/21/13 and 12/30/13. District 8 Game Schedule Form • List your Home games in the top section. • List your Away games in the middle section. • List your Coach information in the bottom section. • Bring your completed form to the District 8 table. • District 8 will keep the white, original and the other two copies are for you to take home. MAKE SURE YOUR SCHEDULE IS LEGIBLE! If I can’t read it, I can’t post it! Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Schedule Process 1 • Check www.stickstats.com in 3-4 days to view your posted schedule. • Check the posted schedule against your copy. • All schedules are built from the submitted, original Home team schedule, including specific rink location. • If you detect a discrepancy, contact the other team. • After verification, if there is a typo by Stickstats, notify the webmaster. • Last season there were xxx games, xxx team scheduling errors, xxx Stickstats.com scheduling errors. District 8 Schedule Process 2 • The schedule you submit is your team’s final schedule. • Typos made by Stickstats will be corrected for no charge for 7 days (inclusive of this meeting). • Any game changes need to be made with the online Game Change form and the appropriate fee paid. • Keep checking your schedule throughout the season. It is where all changes that might happen to a game will be posted. It is the ‘Official’ schedule. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Game Changes 1 • Complete the online Game Change form. • The entire process is explained on this form. • The form and fee MUST be received 14 days prior to the original game • OR • 14 days prior to the rescheduled game, whichever is the earliest date. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Game Changes 2 • Examples: • Original game 1/10/14, Rescheduled game 2/18/14, Game form and fee submitted by 12/27/13 (14 days before the original game). • Original game 1/10/14, Rescheduled game 12/21/13, Game form and fee submitted by 12/7/13 (14 days before the rescheduled game). District 8 Game Changes 3 • Submit the required fee. • The game will not be rescheduled until the fee is received. • The District 8 Supervisor of Officials must approve the reschedule request before it can be posted. • Check the website to confirm that the game has been rescheduled to your request. • Individual notices are NOT sent out. District 8 Game Changes 4 • Severe Weather Cancellations • District 8 does not cancel games. • If two teams decide not to play a game, one team needs to contact the District 8 Supervisor of Officials by 1:00 pm. If notice is not given, teams may be responsible for game official fees. • The Supervisor of Officials will contact/cancel the game officials. • As soon as possible, after game cancellation, teams need to provide the Supervisor of Officials with a make-up date following the 14-day reschedule rules. • No charge for weather related game changes. District 8 Scoresheets 1 • Before a game begins: • Complete player name and number section (suggest a label). • A maximum of 4 coaches may be on the bench. • The Head Coach must sign the scoresheet. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Scoresheets 2 • After the game: • Make sure the Officials have signed the form. • Home team take the light colored copy. • Visiting team take the dark colored copy. • Leave the WHITE copy in the book. • Complete the online Game Results form. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 League Standings 1 • All standings are posted on Stickstats.com. • Winning team (home team in case of a tie) completes the online Game Results form. • Be sure to complete the section on Fair Play Points for each team. Rules for Fair Play are posted on Stickstats.com. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 League Standings 2 • Changes to game results or Fair Play points need to be approved by the District Director. • A copy of the scoresheet from the game in question must be submitted to the District Director before any changes will be considered. Managers - Please refer to page 2

District 8 Playoff Information • Check the District 8 website • Playoff hosts and arena locations. • Playoff fees and registration amounts. • Playoff pairings and brackets. • Playoff penalties and fees if your team decides NOT to participate at the last minute. Managers - Please refer to page 2
District 8 Penalties • A Coach or Player that receives a Game Misconduct penalty outside of District 8 will also receive an additional game suspension in District 8. • A Coach that receives a Game Misconduct penalty must appear before the District 8 Grievance Committee. • If a Player or Coach receives a Match penalty, that person will be suspended up to 30 days or until appearing before the District 8 Grievance Committee.
