The Magic of the “Emerald Isle” Low mountains, grazing pastures, and peat bogs may seem unspectacular, but the seductive beauty of Ireland will grow on you! Natives say their island is “40 shades of green” with rainbows a’plenty. Ancient, moss-covered ring forts and cairns crouch in lush valleys – stone-strewn monastic ruins and lone castles brave the winds on hilltops – and charming villages dot coastlines of rugged, wave-battered cliffs. The Irish have a reputation as a talkative, athletic, musical, romantic peoples with a “gift of gab”, a warm smile, and an open door!
