Snare drum kit including a snare drum with black rubber practice pad, #2B sticks, concert drum stand. No bells are needed.

8. Places to obtain an instrument or repairs Any local music store has rentals, supplies and repairs. Check your phone book.
FCPS-has some scholarship instruments available for families in need.
9. Scheduling: All schools have a rotating schedule.
Students are put into groups of like instruments.
40-45 minute lessons one time a week.
Once a month full band practice.
10. Start dates for beginner lessons: Mondays, Lincoln, starting September 15
Tuesdays, Ballenger Creek, starting September 16
Wednesdays, Carroll Manor, starting September 17 Thursdays, Tuscarora, starting September 18
Fridays, Orchard Grove, starting September 12
Please leave the instrument in the case until the 1st lesson!!
11. Expectations: Attend all lessons when you are in school.
Bring all materials to every lesson.
Be on time to lessons.
Make up all work missed in class.
Try your best at all times

PRACTICE
12. Practice is very important: Keep track of your practice time-aim for 20 minutes a day.
Students will write down practice time on the practice sheet and get it signed weekly.
Have the student contract signed and returned by the first lesson. Please refer to this contract for expectations.
13. If your child forgets his/her instrument: Still attend lessons
1st time-verbal warning
2nd time-note, email or phone call home
14. Additional requirements: Attend the spring concert
Concert dates are pending and will be sent home soon.
CRES test-5th grade only-week of May 4
15. Band progress reports: Handed out with regular report cards at the end of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters.
