Announcements: Software & Computing • Change in “Software & Computing” leadership. • Wyatt Merritt stepping down as co-leader; Amber Boehnlein remains. • Wyatt has led this effort for longer than I can think • Initial design; reviews, implementation & realization • Working VERY WELL • Evidence clear: all production systems in place and treating data ( Releases, RECO, ENSTORE, SAM, production farms, etc.) • GREAT JOB Wyatt !! • We are all in your debt……….. • Nick Hadley will take over temporarily from Wyatt until April 2002; after that Jianming Qian & Amber Boehnlein will lead effort
Priorities, Effort , Manpower ( response to issues raised at last collaboration meeting) Two ways ( and already started): • We have set priorities for March 2002 presented at ADM & on Internal Document page • Collecting information from collaboration about efforts for last 6 months and next 6 months; use to redirect efforts. Put committee in place to gather this information: Hagopian (chair), Lubatti and Ratoff
Announcements • Have formed a Tracking Task Force (TTK#1) to look at problems in tracking, which span more than one group/effort. Led by G.Gutierrez and first results have been presented at ADM. VERY useful. • Task force members: Shabalina, Juste, Grinstein, Karchilava, Khanov, Towers, Kouznetsov, Kulik,Hesketh, Strauss,Schwartzman, Choi, Whiteson, Haas & Quinn • Offline: re-reconstructed all Sept. 2001 data (~ 8 M) with latest RECO version (10.07) & using all final production systems in offline system ( example: STK robot). • Monte Carlo production offsite: continuously ramping up, more sites being added. Current capability: > 400 fast nodes; whole chain takes about 2 min/event ~3.3Hz ( ~0.3M/day) production rate and increasing.
Challenge to do better …… Already very nice results showing detector starting to work
