  1. HEALTH VISITING 2014/15 London indicative commissioning position: 100 commissions Health visiting has been part of a national Department of Health programme to increase numbers. Health visitor numbers have increased because of this drive, but the targets were very ambitious, and were generally not met despite determined recruitment campaigns. The DH target of filled commissions for London in 2014/15 is 100. National targets and recruitment issues It has proved an on-going challenge to meet recruitment targets for health visiting courses. To redress this a concerted recruitment drive was made in November 2012 to increase numbers for January 2013 which has led to exceeding the target. Placement capacity continues to restrict achievement of DH targets for recruitment to HV programmes. DH target total for London is 100, reduced from 374 in 2013/14.
