Keeping Time Leviticus 23
We are way too lax with Sabbath keeping. • God’s command to keep the feast days has never been relaxed. • We are running out of time to get back in sync with God’s times and seasons.
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals (tractors),
nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. • Exodus 20:8-11
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. • Hebrews 10:25
On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime—a day known to the Lord. When evening comes, there will be light. On that day... 9The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. • Zechariah 14:6-7,9
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath Day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. • Colossians 2:16-17
