China Public Emergency Alerting System • Allows the authorities of China to notify people under all emergency circumstances which are divided into four categories including: • natural calamity • accident disaster • public health emergency • social safety   • Authorized By Emergency Response Office of State Council • Built by China Meteorological Administration (CMA)

  3. Architecture • 4 architecture-level platform • 1 satellite backup • 29 authorities source • 10 disseminators and future more • all people in China

Policy Challenges • Is it possible to use one input interface to collect all categories of alerting information from 29 ministries and commissions directly under the State Council? • How can all kinds of distributing paths publish the most suitable alerting information in accordance with the demand of publishing terminal? • Should the alerting publishing system be a transparent transmission system or with verifying and approving?
