He is German painter, wood carver, engraver, and mathematician. He is best know for his woodcuts in series, including the Apocalypse (1498), two series on the crucifixion of Christ, the Great Passion (1498-1510) and Little Passion (1510-1511) as well as many of his individual prints, such as Knight, Death, and the Devil.
