  5. Opening • Review Phrases Packet – this is a homework grade! • Exchange your paper with a tablemate if your homework is COMPLETE. • Write your name on the paper you are correcting. • For example --- C.B. Bob Marley

  6. Opening • What is a preposition? • A word or words that show how one word or idea is related to another and is always followed by an object (noun or pronoun)

  7. Opening • Write Source pg. 742 • Prepositions are words that show position, direction, or how to words or ideas are related to each other. • They show the relationship between its object and some other word in the sentence.

  8. Opening • Prepositional Phrases:include the preposition, the object of preposition, and the modifiers of the object. • Functions as an adjective or an adverb. • A preposition sits in front of (“pre-positioned”) its object • Where is the squirrel!?
