BACKGROUND • Neshaminy Graduate Class of 1987 • Teaching with Neshaminy since 1991 • B.S. in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University • Certification in Early Childhood • Master’s of Education Degree from Holy Family • University • Concentration in Reading • I am married and have three children~ Rebecca 16, Daniel 12, and Michael 10.

  4. WRITING * Kid Writing * Conferencing * Handwriting * Types of Writing- Narrative, Informational, Poetry, Biography, Fiction, and Non-Fiction * Portfolios

MATHEMATICS Math In Focus~ Singapore Math Common Core Standards Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract SCIENCE • Foss- Air & Weather, Solids & Liquids • Too Good For Drugs/Too Good For • Violence • Second Step Class Meeting SOCIAL STUDIES • Communities Around Us, How We Fit Into Our World, • Map Skills, Holidays, Current Events

  6. DAILY 5 * Read To Self * Read To Someone (sit EEKK) * Work on Writing * Listening Center * Word Work While kids choose their center, I am working with small groups or 1:1 on skills that need reinforcement or intervention.

  8. RESPONSIVE CLASSROOM * Morning Meeting • Greeting • Sharing • Group Activity • Morning Message * Class Created Rules • * Behavior: Slip/Stamp Pad and Bucket Fillers • * ECHO sees, ECHO hears

  9. HOMEWORK * Reading & Math will usually be given Monday through Thursday. * There will be some projects throughout the year!!

  10. LUNCH AND RECESS • Your child can buy or bring a lunch and purchase snacks/drinks * Recess is first and then they go to lunch. * Please send in a healthy snack for your child each day. Birthday Packages available in the cafeteria. PTO
