Where to look for new members? • Chamber of Commerce • Newspaper: business section and articles • Daily professional and business contacts • Major companies (many encourage employee community involvement) • Employers and personnel directors • Meetings: church, other organizations, business seminars, etc. • Social contacts and friends • Services you patronize – printers, florists, caterers, etc • Libraries, schools, education facilities (all appreciate our literacy focus)

How To Use Them: PSAs • Public Service Announcements – be PREPARED and CONCISE • Call Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning; • never call on Friday, or just before or just after a holiday weekend • Ask for the person who schedules PSAs • not general manager, sales manager, or news director • Identify yourself clearly - take no more than two minutes • Give name of your club • specify it is a service club • Tell purpose of the event or project • in one sentence • “Sell” your PSA • you’re in competition with many other worthwhile announcements) • Include the brochure when delivering the PSA • help them learn more about Altrusa
