Completion Project • Philippians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. • Philippians 2:12-13 (AMPLIFIED) …cultivate, carry out to the goal and fully complete your own salvation…[not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

  2. Dependant Faith Completion Project

  3. I. The Righteous Shall Live by Faith • Romans 1:17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” • Galatians 3:11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

  4. Hebrews 10:38  And my righteous ones will live by faith.  But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” • All quoted from Habakkuk 2:2-4 • The proud trust in themselves • The righteous will live by their faithfulness

  5. II. Give Us This Day… • Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread

  6. Exodus 16: • Manna – the establishing of daily bread • A test of obedience

  7. Deuteronomy 8: • Humbling and testing you to prove your character • Let you be hungry then fed you with manna • Teaching you that people do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord • Be careful in your plenty • Do not become proud and forget the Lord • Never say “I have achieved this with my strength” • The Lord gives you the power to be successful

  8. Understand times of hunger • Times to establish dependant faith • Times to understand daily bread

  9. III. Take No Thought for Tomorrow • Matthew 6:19-34 • Don’t store up treasures on earth • Where your treasure is, there your heart is • Don’t worry about everyday life • Why do you have so little faith? • These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers

  10. Seek God’s kingdom and live righteously • He will give you everything you need • Don’t worry about tomorrow

  11. IV. Dependant Faith for Service

God’s jobs – more than you have the tools for • Seeing ourselves short of tools to do the job • Healthy inadequacy • God designs it this way so we are dependant on him • Moses – I’m slow of speech • Gideon – my clan is the weakest and I’m the least in my family • Jeremiah – I’m too young • Requires dependent faith

Made Adequate – 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 • Confident because of our great trust in God • Not qualified on our own • Our qualification comes from God • He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant • (2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NASB) "Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

  14. Interaction Time • Why do you feel God is so “last minute” on meeting our needs? • Share with someone a need that you had that caused you to depend on the Lord. Share how God met that need. Maybe you have a need right now. Share your need for others to pray with you. • What has God asked you to do where you feel you have come up short in the tool drawer?
