Teaching Notebook • http://coms539p.blogspot.com/ • Thursday, November 13, 2003 • Great class! • Yea! I was so pleased with how my class worked out yesterday. Each group actually stayed within their 10 time limit, and so I was able to recap the chapter briefly at the end of class, focusing on stuff they might have missed. But overall, each group did great…especially my Ethos and Toulmin Method groups. The Ethos folks had each costumed up to show how clothing and appearance effects credibility. One girl wore a fancy dress, hose and heels; one guy wore ratty jeans and wrinkled shirt; another guy wore a “gangster” outfit with baggy jeans and thick gold chain. Really clever. The Toulmin group had come up with a really good example of how the Toulmin Method works, establishing the definitions of the words on an overhead as they went along. • // posted by Sarah @ 2:10 PM
