This proposal is already applied in practice. The UNECE Regulations become the legal tool ensuring application of the GTR provisions in the national legislation of the CPs to the 1958 Agreement. A legal mechanism that operates within the framework of the 1958 Agreement provides a capability of a mutual recognition of results of compliance evaluation. The UNECE Regulations shall be merged with the appropriate GTR provisions, because no parallel technical provisions will have to exist in relation to the same object of regulation.
