The Agency’s role • Audit data - qualitative assessment, final destinations, reject rates, landfill tonnages • Provide a draft reconciliation - for trading • Retire final accounts and move WDF data into public domain (level 40)
What happens to your data? Reconciliation • 99 Authorities got data to level 35 on time - all received draft reconciliation by 31 Aug • 12 Authorities provided late data - all received draft reconciliation by 6 Sep • 10 Authorities with very late data - received a final reconciliation figure on 2 October
The purpose of the reconciliation • Heads up to local authorities on performance • Period of one month when authorities can trade/borrow to hit targets • Opportunity to disagree if ‘a fundamental and major error’ has occurred. • 3 Authorities successful under above criteria
Current status on reconciliations • 108 Authorities have agreed - data rolled up level 40 accounts retired within trading registry • 42 Authorities queried their draft reconciliation • 13 Authorities disagreed with the reconciliation • Publication of annual LATS report 10 Nov - awaiting outcome of disputes
