Mrs. Capriotti Class Rules • Bring books to class everyday • Assignments will be posted on school webpage. • Home work assigned on Monday- due Friday. • Homework may not be typed- must be handwritten. • Late homework work will not accepted. • Lab reports due one week after lab. • Will need a binder / notebook folder- will be checked • Available for extra help every day after school- must tell me you are coming. • Ask permission before touching animals
First 5 minutes • Do now will be on the board • Write down answers in binders • If need to go to bathroom • Make phone call • Go to nurse, get a drink • Whatever…. • Ask in first 5 minutes- you will not be allowed out later in the period.
1. Equipment returned cleaned and dried, back to place of origin. • 2. Take only what is needed for that step- return when finished using (don’t take and horde ten slides at once).
If break anything or spill anything PLEASE LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY!!!! • If accident no problem! • THINGS BREAK • Accidents Happen! • NO PROBLEM- • PLACE • IN SPECIAL • CONTAINER
4. HORSEPLAY- BIG PROBLEM IN LAB PERIODS- penalty doubled- • (Mrs. C is nuts in lab)
Mrs. Capriotti’s Lab Report Format • Lab Reports – • Everyone turns in their own lab report.( Your data should be the same as the rest of the group but your graph and conclusion should be different!) • Should be typed, very well done. • Have one week to finish lab report. • You have one week after an absence to make up a missed lab. • If report is one week late the grade drops to an 85- • After two weeks it is a 65. • Put in bin on front desk
Page one of report • Cover page • Title of lab • Name • Date • Period
Page 2 - ? of lab report • Data sections of lab • 1. Numbers/ diagrams/graphs/etc • 2. Must include units/ grams / milli microns • 3. Diagrams, charts and graphs must be labeled • 4. Axis of graphs must be labeled • 5. must use metric system • 6.May use handout if neat enough( if you spilled frog guts on your paper you can’t use it!)
Last page of lab • Summary Page • Short concise summary of what you did in lab or didn’t see because lab didn’t work. Plus- what you learned from attempting the lab. (Learning from your mistakes is a valid lab.) You cannot say – lab didn’t work didn’t learn anything?? Be very careful that your data and summary match!- Be very careful in borrowing data????
