  2. Three types of Commitments • to improve own performance in providing access to information, participation, and justice • to contribute to the improvement of performance by other PP10 partners • to contribute to the collective work of PP10

  3. UK Government commitments • To ratify the Aarhus Convention • support other partners in achieving their commitments through project-funding • playing an active role on the PP10 Advisory Council

  4. Why UK Government became a Partner • Attach great importance to the implementation of Principle 10 • Believe Partnerships between Government and civil society groups can be an effective means of delivering action on the ground, developing new ideas and innovative solutions

  5. Key achievements of PP10 • created a unique platform for collaboration at national level between governments and civil society • provided an opportunity for global sharing of experience and mutual learning • raised the profile of principle 10 in general
