  2. Consensus Pie Now we are going to create a7 Art Elements Consensus Pie

  3. For this activityyou will work togetherin groups of 3 or 4… …if you are only 1 or 2 at your table, move to another table that doesn’t already have 4.

  4. Each group will need: a large sheet of newsprint paper different colored markers for each group member

  5. Each member of the group… …select one marker (each membershould have a different color)

  6. First person in the group… …draw a large circle that fills upmost of the paper,

  7. Second person in the group … …draw a medium size circle in the middle of the paper

  8. Third person in the group … … draw a vertical line that radiates from the edges of the inside circleand divides the large circle into 2 halves.

  9. If there are only 3 member of your group, divide the pie into 3 slices. Fourth person in the group … …draw a horizontal line that radiates from the edges of the inside circleand divides the large circle into fourths.

  10. In the next step you will be writing a silent list… …you will have time after this stepsto discuss your answers with the other members of your group… …so be sure to add your own thoughts and do your own thinking and writing.

  11. Does anyone have any questions? Once we start the silence raise your hand if you have a question, andI’ll come over to you.

  12. Now… …take a few minutes to mentally review the things we have been talking about the last few days…

  13. In the next step you will be writing a silent list of 4 or 5 words that would describe… …what ingredients would it take to design or understand & communicatea piece of Art?

  14. when you have thought of 4 or 5 words that describe… …what ingredients would it take to design or understand & communicatea piece of Art? …silently write the words in the slice of the Consensus Pie that is in front of you. You will have 2 minutes for this step.

  15. Now……you will discuss your answers with the other member of your group… …decide within your group on the 5 best answers among all the words on the Consensus Piethat best describe… …what ingredients would it take to design or understand & communicatea piece of Art?

  16. One person in each group… …write the 5 best answers in the medium center circle… Be sure that you write down the words that have been agreed upon by your other group members. You will have 2 minutes for this step.

  17. In the final step… …choose one member from each groupto stand up and share your groups ingredients with the rest of the class… You will have 1 minutes for this step.

  18. We will start with table 7… …stand and face the classand let them know whatyour groups consensusof ingredients it would take to design or understand & communicatea piece of Art. We will thencontinue around the room with table 8 and so on…

  19. For today’s Pass Out Ticketget a post it noteput your first & last, and art periodnow answer this question fully… Was your group able to come to a Consensus? Why? Or Why Not? Once you have fully answered park your ticket in your parking space on the lot.
