  2. Reminders: • Internal conflict • Man v. Self • External conflict • Man v. Man • Man v. Nature • Man v. Society • Theme= a statement of the lesson learned • Characterization • Direct= author says it • Indirect= author implies it • Point of View • 1st person= protagonist uses “I” • 2ndperson= author addresses the audience with “you” • 3rd person= author does not use “I” for any of the characters • Limited: We are only able to see from one character’s POV (Ulrich/Seventh Man/Sekhar) • Omniscient: We can see into everyone’s mind and see things that even the characters cannot.
