Next Step – Midpoint Presentation • Week 7 Tuesday • 10 minutes a team with 5 minutes questions • One presenter • All the team members can answer questions • Estimate 1~2 slides per minute • Slides and backup results upload to my course before 4pm Tuesday • In the presentation, you will provide a summary and highlight • Details are documented in backup results doc • Grading: backup results – understandable, consistent to what presented

Research Presentation Advice • Structured • Motivation, goals, problems (1 min) • Data collection and analysis (3-4 min) • Initial results and discoveries (4-5 min) • Plans for next 3 weeks in terms of producing results (1 min) • Initial results • Qualitative discoveries • Quantitative discoveries • Mobile phone (data collection should be done, data analysis is undergoing but with initial results) • Meaning of the code (manual tagging, also initial analysis on examples) • Graph Representation (partial data collection and analysis)

Research Presentation Advice • Identify the important ideas • Focused time should be spent in approaches and results not the motivation/problems • Pictures and diagrams are always good • Talk to the audience and not to read the slides • Reasonable pace • Practice and think what you plan to talk before the presentations
