Jessica Ilyse Kurn hails from the Midwest, where she got her media start by recording cooking shows in her kitchen. In 1999 she moved to New York City to attend Barnard College, Columbia University, where she graduated with degrees in environmental science and human rights. She lived in NYC for many years, working in the public schools and at an urban farm in Brooklyn. In 2007 she moved to Boston to pursue a degree in agriculture, food and environmental policy from Tufts University, where she got her masters in nutrition. At Living on Earth, Jessica Ilyse is a producer and a reporter covering health topics and all things food--from food safety, to genetic engineering, to agricultural innovations. 5
