Mitty’s Involvement • Our team is 1351 • We have been competing for 7 years • We compete in 3 major competitions each year: • Cal Games • Silicon Valley Regional • Davis Regional • If we win a Regional, we advance to the National Championships in Atlanta
How do we build the robot ?? • The Team that builds the Robot is composed of 4 sub-teams • Chassis – The team that builds the Frame and Wheels • Arm – The team that builds the device that manipulates game pieces • Software – The team that writes Programs that control the Robot’s action’s • Electronics – The team that assembles circuitry and components that sit on the chasis • We need members for all sub-teams!!!!
Who Runs the Business Side • Operations • Nonengineering • Business Orientated • Public Relations • Media Coordinators • Art-Related Projects
What does the team doduring the year?? • New member recruitment and training starts now • Intrasquad Challenge • Afterwards we prepare for Cal Games • We compete in Cal Games • The 2011 game is announced at the beginning of January • THEN
Build Season • There is a 6 week INTENSIVE “Build Period” • Design • Prototype • Build • Test • Ship

How in the world do we getthis done in 6 weeks?? • We work closely with adult mentors • Individuals who work in the Industry and have experience in relevant areas • We as a whole now have 7 years experience competing, so we have a good idea of how to pace the work • We work long hours during the build cycle!!
Build Season Schedule • January to February • Meeting Times 3 – 5 • Monday - Friday • Meeting Time 9 – 5 • Saturday

How do I get involved? • You select a sub-team to belong to • But feel free to explore • You commit to attending at least 2 meetings a week • During the 6 week build period, you will need to attend additional meetings • We train you – so this is fun. • Don’t worry if you don’t know anything. • Everyone has a blast working with the team designing and building!!!
