BLT Training I Do It We Do It You Do It
Step into the BLT Team Process • The vision of this leadership team process is to meet • the individual needs of schools. • The team attends BLT Leadership Trainings prior to each scheduled In-service. • At each BLT training session, presenters model strategies based on district-wide goals. • The BLT Team takes the information learned at each training session, plans and organizes the best way to introduce the information to their staff - building specific.
Step into the BLT Team Process 4. Planning time is given during the BLT training. 5. The BLT Team trains their entire staff during each of the district’s in-service days. The BLT Team process is research-based and correlates with effective professional development models proven to enhance student achievement.
Selection Criteria Suggestions • Is the person a leader within your building? • What is the person’s level of commitment to making improvements within your school? • Does this person have professional respect within your building? • Is this person willing to try new things within his/her classroom? • Does your staff view this person as someone they can trust? • How does your staff communicate with this person? Openly and honestly?
Example: District Goals By the end of 2007-2008 school year, the number of students proficient in mathematics will increase at each building. By the end of 2007-2008 school year, the number of students proficient in reading will increase at each building.
Example: Training Schedule • August 22: BLT Training(8:30 to 3:30 District Level) • August 29: District In-Service (Afternoon Session) • October 5: BLT Training (8:30 to 3:30 District Level) • October 20: Full Day In-service (Building Specific) • January 4, 2007: BLT Training (8:30 to 3:30 District Level) • January 12, 2007: Full Day In-service (Building Specific)
