IEEE Medal for Environmental and Safety Technologies • Established in 2008. • Sponsor: Toyota Motor Corp. • Presented to: An individual or team, up to three in number. • Scope: For outstanding accomplishments in the application of technology in the fields of interest of IEEE that improve the environment and/or public safety. • Prize: The award consists of a gold medal, bronze replica, certificate and honorarium (25k). • Presentation: At the annual IEEE Honors Ceremony.

  3. Criteria/Basis for Judging • Public benefits of the contribution • Degree in improvement in important performance metrics • Innovative design, development or application engineering • Favorable influence on the contribution on technical professions

Nominating a Candidate • Fill out Nomination Form with candidate information and the proposed citation of that candidate’s work • Professional history, details of technical accomplishments and contributions as well as any IEEE and non-IEEE activities • Solicit at least three letters (up to five) of endorsement for the candidate
