Major Panel Revisions • Major Panels will no longer review/approve courses • Major Panels will continue to make recommendations related to foundational preparation • Major Panels will serve an advisory role to boards on discipline-related issues • Panels will be renamed (Illinois History Advisory Committee)
GECC Panel Revisions • Institutions will identify process for faculty to verify appropriateness and completeness of submissions • Institutions will inform Board Staff of the nature of the process • Board Staff will screen submissions and work with IAI Institutional Contacts to clarify any issues • Shorten turn-around time on submissions

Transfer of Incomplete GECC Under certain circumstances, institutions should offer transfer students the option of satisfying lower-division general education requirements by completing a GECC curriculum while enrolled in the receiving institution. • When the transfer student has completed a statewide articulated associate degree such as the AFA, AES, AAT; or • When the transfer student has completed 30 semester hours of transfer credit without having completed the GECC.
