  2. PENGERTIAN • Adalah : cara melacak keberadaan lulusan dan aktivitas mereka, setelah menyelesaikan belajar

  3. LATAR BELAKANG • antara lain : • menangkap sinyal pasar kerja melalui kacamata para lulusan, • melihat hubungan pendidikan tinggi dengan pasar kerja • mendapatkan umpan balik sebagai bekal bagi perbaikan mutu pendidikan

  4. Tujuan Tracer Study • Untuk mengetahui kondisi alumni - IPK kelulusan - Masa study - Waktu tunggu mendapat pekerjaan - Gaji pertama - Kesesuaian pekerjaan

  5. Setelah Mengerti Kondisi Lulusan • Perbaikan-perbaikan untuk meningkatkan kelemahan yang ada - Meningkatkan IPK - Memperpendek masa studi - Memperpendek waktu tunggu - Gaji pertama memadai - Pekerjaan sesuai dengan bidangnya - Kompetensi Lulusan perlu ditingkatkan

Metode Tracer Study • Data collection: • Online questionnaire (no paper) • 14 pages (300 variables). • Standardisation: • Instruments (Cheers, Reflex, UI) • Procedures (workshop, reminder) • Target population; • S1 (regular and extension) • Graduation year 2008 (based on judicium date) • Time of study (first year): • Sept 2009 – Dec 2010 12 12

Koleksi Data • Data collection divided into 2 periods: • Period I : Graduates of Jan – Jun 2008 • Period II : Graduates of Jul – Dec 2008 • Online questionnaire is to be accessed from CDC-UI internet site • Formal email is sent to alumni (signed by Director of Alumni Relations on behalf of UI Rector) • Link http://tracerstudy.ui.ac.id and PIN number is provided in e-mail • Data is processed using QTAFI software (INCHER-Uni Kassel Germany) using CDC-UI server. 14

Data collection process: E-mail blast is sent to all respondent (whose email address is on the database) Check whether graduates fill the questionnaire: Sending “thank you letter” email to respondents who have already filled in the questionnaire Resending email (email blast) to graduates who have not at all filled in the questionnaire and also contacted by phone Contacting by phone respondents who have filled in the questionnaire but not complete Reminders/recontact is implemented until the end of July 2010 (period 1) and Oct 2010 (period 2) Koleksi Data 15

  19. Lessons learned • Response rate strategy: • Formal letter from Rector/Dean • Total pages questionnaires should be informed (in email letter and telephone call) • Make sure that the online system work • Inform graduates about tracer study

Lessons learned Standardized telephone calls State name of institution, directorate, study program first Ask respondent to fill-in the questionnaire completely Ask respondents whether they did not accept email, or the pin number did not work Ask respondents whether they can be called later (if they still don’t fill-in the questionnaire) Definition of contact. 20

  38. Kesimpulan • IPK rata-rata Lulusan 2006-2008UniversitasBrawijayaadalah 3,07. Bidang studi sosial3,15, bidang studi eksakta 3,05, bidang studi agrokompleks 3,09. • Rata-rata lama studi Universitas Brawijaya adalah 61,8 bulan. Bidang studi sosial61,75 , bidang studi eksakta 62,55 , bidang studi agrokompleks 61,36 . • Alumnibekerja diluar daerah asalnya yakni 39,1 %, bekerja disektor yang sama tetapi di daerah asal alumni sebesar 24,9 %, wirausaha yaitu sebesar 14,2 %, PNS sebesar 7,7 %, honorer sebesar 5,8 %, perusahaan keluarga sebesar 2,2 %, 5,4 % melanjutkan studi

  39. 52,3% memiliki waktu tunggu untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama < 3 bulan, eksakta (4,61 bulan), agrokompleks (5,14 bulan) dan sosial (5,63 bulan) • Gaji pertama (32,9%) adalah antara Rp. 1,000,000 - Rp.2,250,000, gaji > Rp.2,250,000 diterima oleh alumni laki-laki program studi eksakta yaitu sebesar 10,2%, gaji < Rp. 500,000 diterima oleh alumni perempuan program studi eksakta yaitu sebesar 20,3%.
