Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.    Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.    Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.    But not only that:    Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.    Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.    Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

Definition Cohesion is the link to hold sentences, ideas and details fit together clearly and smoothly in order to help readers to interpret ideas in the way the writer want them to understand. In addition, to achieve a consistent relationshipamong text. cohesive devices link your sentences and paragraphs together smoothly so that there are no abrupt jumps or breaks between ideas.

  6. How to achieve cohesion in writing?

  7. Repetition In sentence B (the second of any two sentences), repeat a word from sentence A. Repetition is used to focus your ideas,to keep your reader on track and to reinforce information. e.g. I’m nobody. Are you nobody, too?

  8. Parallelism Parallelism is the oldestbut probably the most elegant method of creating cohesion.It works to repeat a word or a sentence structure. Thesimilar ideas should be written in similar grammatical form. Using parallelism makes writing more sophisticated, academic and cohesive organized. e.g. Relax more, sleep deeper, and dream better.

  9. Synonymy Synonymy is another strategy to develop cohesionif direct repetition is too obvious. Using the words that have essentially the same meaning is helping to make your language variable as well as helping the readers to stay focused on the idea being discussed. e.g. Please search online. You will find more information.

  10. Pronouns Pronouns are used to refer back to the information mentioned previously.Usually used pronouns including this, that, these, those, he, she, it, they, and we. Pronouns helps making clear connections in writing and establishing cohesion. It serves as substitutes for nouns and therefore avoid needless repetition. e.g. Mary loves Titanic. She enjoys watching romantic movies so much.
