Staff and Non-Staff UIDs • UID is required for Home Base • Each LEA must determine the work-flow • Identify the department that manages the Staff-UID system • UIDs should be processed nightly as new employees are hired • Access to Home Base SIS is provided at the local level, generally by the School Data Manager • NCEES and SchoolNet are accessed via Home Base SIS

  3. Sam (Staff) and Jim (Non-Staff) Sam is a newly hired public education employee • Principal • Assistant Principal • Counselor • Teacher Jim works with LEAs but is paid by another entity • Nurse • Social Worker • Security/Police Staff • Teacher Evaluator

Sam Public Education Sam provides his paper work to Human Resources who then provides the info to Payroll A staff record is created in Home Base SIS and ‘finds’ the 10 digit UID for Sam A security record is created in Home Base SIS for Sam and he logs in using the 10 digit UID Payroll produces a file with Sam’s information and provides it to the UID system The UID system generates a Unique Identifier (10 digits) for Sam Sam logs into Home Base SIS and sees the NCEES and SchoolNet links

Jim Non-Staff Jim’s information is added manually to the UID system to generate a Unique Identifier (10 digits) A staff record is created in Home Base SIS and ‘finds’ the 10 digit UID for Jim A security record is created in Home Base SIS for Jim and he logs in using the 10 digit UID Jim logs into Home Base SIS and sees the NCEES and SchoolNet links
