  5. Pushing and Probing Questions • At your tables, work together to classify the questions the teacher asks in Dialogue #1 as either pushing or probing. Park City Mathematics Institute

  6. Dialogues #2 and #3 each illustrate a particular pattern of questioning. • By looking at the characteristics of the dialogues, decide what the teacher is doing to supportor hinder student thinking. Park City Mathematics Institute
