Techno-College
Wednesday morning program E3
Expand your skills
Enlarge your vision
Embrace the future
29. Wednesday Morning E3 Rationales:
Decreasing attendance of last half day on Wednesday
Insufficient hand’s-on-training (HOT)
Inefficiently used on-site industrial resources
Enhance introduction of novel technologies ”by familiarizing via hand’s on training, interactive video sessions
“Sensational” effect of Techno-College from live transmissions with passive participant role and low educational or training value
30. Goals Wednesday Morning E3 Increased motivation to attend the Wednesday session by increase “return of time investment” by interest oriented HOT sessions
Allow for specific pre-booked HOT sessions (increased interests)
Improve Cross-linking and expand network between surgical colleagues and MeDTech Industry (MDTI) staff
Use present MDTI resources (on-site material and personnel) and combine education, training and networking to set the stage for follow-up in depth-trainings
Present improved techniques with pre-existing devices
Bringing practical aspects to the session presented in the Techno College and closing the meeting
31. Wednesday morning E3 Focus on relatively new devices, techniques or technologies
Participants needs to be pre-booked to optimize logistics
The matrix is maintained - all activities are split in the four domains adult, cong., vascular, thorax
The domain chairs are in charge of organizing the topic of interest that will be discussed and then followed by the Video and skill session.
Domain chairs will help to define the discussants on the defined topic as well as video presenters and skill demonstrators (favouring younger colleagues for all skill task)
The discussion will provide the necessary theoretical background to motivate the following HOT sessions
32. European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery This work of the Association in the field of education would be
impossible without your generous support.
EACTS Council on behalf of the members expresses their gratitude and
appreciation for your continued support.
