Maori Lens KaupapaMaori Theory is about the idea of struggle; the need to create space in which we wish to develop our thinking that relates to Maori elements and has its own validity Leadership is the ability • To reconcile those differences while recognising that we exist within three realms; TeAo Maori (as Maori), Aotearoa(as New Zealanders) and TeAoWhanui (as Global Citizens). • To occupy and own the space between Matauranga Maori (Maori knowledge) and other pools of knowledge is essential • To recognise Maori have a way of looking at health which is markedly different from looking at disease.
