  2. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 League Facts • The FFL is a non-profit, non-paid volunteer organization. The league does not have a store front. Should you need to contact a board member, all e-mail addresses and descriptions are posted on the website under “FFL Board”. • The FFL does not own any fields. The league works with FISD and the City of Frisco Parks and Rec for all practice and game fields. • 2014 Statistics • 2,054+ Participants • 80 football teams • 50 cheer squads • 32 Air Assault teams • 162 team managers • 500+ coaches • 64 scholarships awarded

  4. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Communication • LEAGUE • E-mail (be sure your e-mail address is always up-to-date) • The FFL sends reminders and informational e-mails through the database. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Prohibited • NO Pets or Animals are Allowed on any Athletic Field • Per City of Frisco’s Code of Ordinances under Section 58-92, Item 14 • NO Urinating in Public during Games and Practices • Urinating in public is against the law • NO Parents on Game Field During Games • NO team practice before August 16th. August 16this the first available practice day for any team (football or cheer).

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 What is Your Role as Team Manager? • Liaison between the coaching staff and the players’ parents • Organizer, planner, treasurer, team manager • Communicator • Coordinator of: • Team Roster for Game Day Announcing • Volunteer Schedule (snacks, concessions, water, chains, announcing, etc.) • Uniforms • Parties • Team T-Shirts • Cheer/Football Support • Coaches’ Appreciation

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Role of ALL Parents • The FFL Code of Ethics is to be distributed to all parents and coaches on your team during your team meeting. • Parents are a part of the team and should volunteer any way they can. • Announcing • Scoreboard • Chains (no tolerance by officials) • Snacks • Water duty • Everyone should support the team by following the league’s motto of “Youth First, Sport Second”.

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Rosters • Rosters for Game Day Announcing (team manager to announcer) • It is the responsibility of the team to provide the roster to the announcer before each game, not the FFL. • A template will be posted on the website for your use, as well as e-mailed to you in Word format. • Football players MUST be listed in numerical order by jersey #. • Cheer can be listed by first name or last name. • Rosters for Season Program (team manager to Jil Yates) • An Excel file will be issued to all team managers via e-mail to complete their final rosters for the season program. Rosters will include the following: participant names, jersey numbers (if applicable), all coaches, team managers and sponsors.

  10. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Cheerleader Expectations • If the boys are playing football, the cheerleaders should be cheering. Regardless of inclement weather. • Cheerleaders must arrive 30 minutes prior to game time for proper warm-up. Cheerleaders must remain along the sidelines performing cheers and chants throughout the football game. • At half-time cheerleaders will take the center of playing field and be introduced to the spectators. The visiting squad will be introduced and perform at the center field first, then the home team will be introduced and perform at center field. Performances may be choreographed dance routines, cheers/chants with stunting or a combination of these. • In case of music malfunction be prepared with a back-up cheer/chant. Halftime performance will be shared with visiting teams. • Parents and spectators are not allowed on the field of play at anytime. This includes halftime. All spectators should be respectful of the cheer teams that are performing. • Home team cheerleaders typically walk to the visiting sidelines during 3rd quarter and do an introduction cheer/chant. Remember to be good sportsman, while on the opposing sideline. .

  11. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Spending Disclaimer • The HC and TM will set up a budget for the season. Additional items for purchase may include some items below; however, a team may not request MORE THAN $75 for flag football or $125 for tackle football or cheerleading. • Game pants/socks- PANTS MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET- UNLESS YOU ARE NOT CHARGING THE FULL AMOUNT • Helmet decals • Training equipment (i.e., dummies, cones, etc.) • Extra footballs • Award Stickers • Megaphones • Cheer Shoes • Cheer Bows • Banners • Parties • Gifts NOTE: Spirit items are not part of a team’s budget and are considered optional purchases. (team t-shirts, face painting, anything that is optional)

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Spending Disclaimer • Keep the gift exchanges between football/cheerleaders to a minimum. • Set the standard early by meeting with each respective Team Manager and decide which games, if any you want to do gift exchanges. • Remember, this is about the game and what the kids learn about the game of football, cheerleading and overall teamwork. It’s not about what am I going to “get” at the end of the game.

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Team Budget • Team budget is established by the Team Manager and Head Coach. • The budget for each player is NOT to exceed: • $125 for tackle football or cheerleading • $75 for flag football • Be aware that not all parents will be able to contribute monetarily. • To bring down the cost, get sponsorships. For tax purposes, those teams receiving sponsorships -- Receipts MUST be turned into the FFL at the end of the season along with a copy of your budget. • Collect Money Only ONCE – you will be glad you did.

  18. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 End of Season Programs The End of Season Program is considered the "yearbook" of the season. Rosters, sponsors, past champions, etc. will be featured and can be purchased the end of October. Team Managers are notified when these are available for sale. The back and the majority of the book will feature spirit ads (team and individual) that are PURCHASED individually or by the team, as well as advertising/company ads are also accepted (same pricing as spirit ads). All ads are black and white, cover is in color. Program is printed on high gloss paper. Please note that not all teams are placed in the program - only if they are submitted by their teams. • PRICING FOR ADS (all ads are black & white): $30 1/4 page ad (apprx. (4.25 x 5.5) $55 1/2 page ad (apprx. 8.5 x 5.5) $100 Whole page ad (apprx. 8.5 x 11) Ad Creation Fee - this charge is ONLY if your ad needs to be created for the program. If your ad is complete AS IS submitted in .pdf format, black and white, this does not apply to you. • ¼ = 20.00 (max of 2 pics) • ½ = 35.00 (max of 3 pics) • Full = 55.00 (max of 4 pics) Plan on including this in your team budget.

  19. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Team Spending • At NO point can you as a Team Manager or Coach ask your parents for additional team fees. Whether it be a “donation” or not. • 11/12 Helmet painting MUST be included in the $125 team fee. You CANNOT ask for the $125 plus the $30 cost of painting the helmets. • Cheer Bows- this year bows are not included in the price of uniforms. Therefore the cost of bows will need to be included in the Team budget.

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Sponsorships • All sponsor levels are available to designate to a specific team/squad. • Teams will receive 70% of the net proceeds and the other 30% will go directly towards assisting the League in operating expenses (fields, scoreboards, referees, announcing booths, upkeep of concession stands, etc.). • A maximum of $700 is allowed per team/squad. Which means if a sponsor donated the full $1000, you can only have 1 sponsor. • Each sponsorship level offers varying levels of acknowledgement. • Each sponsorship is tax deductible (tax letters will be issued at the beginning of 2013). • Sponsorship forms are posted on the FFL website.

  21. Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Team Volunteers • Home Team – team is responsible for 1 Announcer and 1 Scoreboard keeper. (new scoreboard controller) • Visiting Team – team is responsible for 3 chain gang for down markers (3 adults/older teenagers only). Once you are a chain/down marker you are no longer a parent you are a part of the game. • Field Clean-up – parents should clean up around themselves (i.e., bleachers, field, chairs, team bench). Help keep the fields litter-free. • Assist team manager with water duty, snacks, etc.

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 Getting Started “To Do” List • Solicit team sponsorships • Establish team budget, collect money • Contact cheer team manager or football team manager • Team meeting - coordinate with coaches • Publish team practice schedule- FB PRACTICE LOCATIONS & SCHEDULES WILL BE ASSIGNED & RELEASED EARLY AUGUST • Create team phone list and game schedule (pocket reference guide) • Order game pants and socks (football) • Determine volunteer schedule (announcing, chains, snacks) • Design and order team t-shirts • Order decals (if applicable) • Have parents sign the Player Participation Rule form and the FFL Code of Ethics Form

Team Manager Meeting June 23rd 2014 GAME DAY UNIFORMS • Uniform arrival • Football Jerseys - will arrive around the first week of August, the Head Coach will be notified to pick these up immediately. Upon pick-up please make sure that you check your jerseys and even have the boys try them on immediately. If there is a size issue the Head Coach will work directly with myself and Matt Wargel to rectify the problem. • Cheer Uniforms- will arrive around the first week of August, the Head Coach will be notified to pick these up immediately. Upon pick-up please make sure that you check your uniforms and even have the girls try them on immediately. If there is a size issue the Head Coach will work directly with myself and Kathleen McCoy to rectify the problem. • Only uniforms issued by the FFL will be permitted on game day

They will also be marking items down during that time, plus you will get the FFL 15% discount. Please see check the website for special FFL discounts & services & on the website under “Vendors” • Dr. Joe McNutt – Sunday clinic beginning Sept 7thfor Game injuries (not chronic problems) Time TBD. More details will follow.
