  2. NEGU™ which stands for Never Ever Give Up, was the motto of Jessica Joy Rees. • Diagnosed with two inoperable brain tumors in March of 2011 and passed away January 5, 2012. • Jessie’s life continues to inspire thousands of people to NEGU™ in life no matter what! • Joy Jars help us do this.

  3. JoyJars™ were inspired by 12 year old Jessie Rees in March of 2011 as a way to help spread hope, joy and love to other kids fighting cancer. • 3,000 JoyJars were sent out in 2011. • Our goal: 50,000 JoyJars • One to every child suffering with cancer.

Cause: Pediatric Cancer • One in every 330 Americans develops cancer before the age of twenty. • On the average, 36 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer everyday in the United States. • On the average, one in every four elementary schools has a child with cancer. The average high school has two students who are current or former cancer patients. • 50,000 children are current cancer patients in the U.S.

  5. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What are JoyJars? A: JoyJars are 64oz plastic jars with age appropriate items. We have boys and girls ages 1-4, 5-8, 9-13. Q: Can any child suffering from a form of pediatric cancer receive a JoyJar? A: You can nominate any child by following the simple nomination process. Q: Is help needed stuffing JoyJars? A: Volunteers are welcome to stuff JoyJars if they are in the Orange County area.

  6. SUNDAY, MARCH 25th, 2012 • WHO: Swimmers and non-swimmers of all ages that want to make a difference! • WHAT: The JOY SPLASH ULTIMATE RELAY BASH benefitting JoyJars and the NEGU Foundation. The goal is to help Jessie’s dream come true. • 8×100 relay, wacky relays, crazy contests, great prizes for registration, donations and pledges, awesome raffle and silent auction items, food and Olympic Medalist appearances by some of the USA’s biggest names!

WHEN: Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 9:00am – 2:00pm • WHERE: William Woollett Aquatics Center, 4601 Walnut Ave, Irvine, CA 92604 • WHY: Raise funds to help the NEGU Foundation send JoyJars to kids fighting cancer. • REGISTRATION FEE of $20 INCLUDES: • • Custom TEAM NEGU Swim Cap • • Custom TEAM NEGU Bag Tag • • Two raffle tickets for great prizes including Olympic swimmer memorabilia • • Lunch from the JOY SPLASH Cafe
