  2. College Notes • 4 year colleges--Bachelors degree • Private • Drake, Harvard, Grand View, and Simpson • Tuition $10,000-$30,000 • Public • Iowa, ISU, UNI • Tuition $6,000-$7,000

  3. College Notes • 2 year colleges--Associates degree • Community college • DMACC, ICCC, and Kirkwood $3,000-$4,000 • Specialty colleges • AIB, LaJames, Iowa School of Beauty, Vatterott, and Kaplan

  4. College Notes • Graduate School--Masters degree • Another 2-4 years after your Bachelors degree • Lawyer, doctor, MBA • Tuition is the cost of classes and books • Tuition is an investment in yourself • Financial aid: “You have to spend money to make money”

College Notes • General Education Requirements--these are the classes that you are required to take like English, math, speech, social science, science, foreign language • Full-time students need 12 credits to stay on parent’s health insurance. You usually need at least 15 credits a semester to graduate on time.

  6. College Notes • Most classes are 3 credits • Bachelors degree require around 124 credits • Dorms/on campus living with meal plans costs around $4,000-$7,000 • Scholarships and grants are money you don’t have to pay back • Loans need to be paid back with interest after you graduate
