About KBUCEC • The KBUCEC is a registered club which was started in 2007 by students of Kisubi Brothers Centre of Uganda Martyrs University. • This was a group of concerned students who were committed to raising awareness about environmental issues, and to reducing the negative environmental impact as individuals, as university community, and as citizens of the world. • Beginning as a “Wild Life Club”, it was changed to “Kisubi Brothers University Environment Club (KBUCEC)”in 2011.   4. About KBUCEC… The club registered more than thirty (30) members in the last academic year 2012-2013. The members of Kisubi Brothers University College Environmental Club (KBUCEC) wish by their attitudes and activities to; • Foster a culture of love for nature and respect for all creations. • Cultivate a desire for environmental conservation among the students of this university and beyond. • Promote appreciation and scientific study of the country’s wildlife and the environment. Our Mission …What we do… Our objectives will be reached by; • Improving the sanitation around the campus and help to beautify it. • Networking with like clubs in other institutions. • Touring other places that offer environmental education/activities. • Giving leadership in developing forum for reflection/debate regarding current environmental issues. • Presenting movies on related topics. • Recycling plastics.   7. Awards   The club gives out the following awards to its members: • Certificates of Participation. These are given to all the ongoing registered member who have actively participated fully in the club events. • T-shirts. Events The club plan to have the following event this academic year: • A public lecture on 13th-09-2013 at 14:30. • An expedition to the Murchison falls in Northern Uganda on 11th-10-2013. • Showing movies about environmental conservation. • Re-cycling plastics and other voluntary work around the campus.
