School of Nursing Reaccreditation November 9-11, 2009 • Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, master’s and the doctorate in nursing practice programs. • Voluntary process • Goal: improve and enhance educational programs for professional nursing students.
Reaccreditation includes: • Preparation of self study document • Gathering of supporting documentation • Site visit by review team that includes observation of classes and clinicals, review of supporting documentation, meeting with key campus leaders, community partners and SON faculty/staff and students
Your role in reaccreditation • Be present – greet visitors, attend sessions if requested • Be familiar with the Essentials of Master’s Education for Advanced Practice Nursing and other standards • Be prepared to share your experience in the nursing program
