Reaccreditation process • Preparation of self study document • Gathering of supporting documentation • Site visit by review team that includes observation of classes and clinicals, review of supporting documentation, meeting with key campus leaders, community partners and SON faculty/staff and students
Your role in reaccreditation • Be present – greet visitors, attend sessions if requested • Be aware of the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and other standards • Be prepared to share your experience in the nursing program

Essential #1:Liberal Education Outcome • Acquire the foundations for living a productive life and being a citizen of the world by developing reasoning and communication skills.
Essential #2: Professional Values Outcomes • Develop the foundation for a professional self-concept and begin role socialization for professional nursing practice. • Apply legal and ethical concepts and processes in the analysis of clinical situations. • Discuss strategies that promote the quality of working life for health care professionals.
Essential #3 : Core Competencies Outcomes: • Practice critical thinking in making clinical judgments • Utilize appropriate interviewing techniques to obtain a health history • Demonstrate the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan for addressing identified needs of individuals, families and communities.
