Background of the organization PRONADIS (National Disability Program): The National Disability Program (PRONADIS) belongs to the Ministry of Social Development. PRONADIS has a national scope and supports the improvement of people with disability and welfare by promoting their inclusion in the community.
Valuation and Support Division - Employment Department: Conducts job counselling interviews for people with disability, elaboration of job profiles, as well as advice to organizations and companies wishing to hire people with disability. .
Disability data 17.6% (514000) of the population over 5 years of age have at least one type of limitation (2011 Census) Population with disabilities of working age is of 278.051 people, considering age to be between 14 and 65 years of age.
Reasons to choose Montevideo: 1- Half of the population of Uruguay lives in the capital. 2- In rural areas environments are more favorable for persons with intellectual or psychosocial disability to access a job. 3- The economic activity of the capital is mainly in manufacturing, commerce and services, so it is necessary to access training in this
Target group 14 or older, students of Why In adult education there is no lead to obtain employment.They need to do a course that allows them to have an vocacional educational certificate to access a job.
Objective Short-term objective: (2 years) that PWIDD can have training to access employment Long-term objective: (5 years) all PWIDD can have vocational training and access employment. Work in coordination with adult education and vocational training centers to improve the procedure and replay each year. 11 centers in Montevideo.
Strategy and activities: Strategy 1:students get vocational training Activities: • Visit schools to talk with teachers. Advise on the procedures for registering people with disabilities. • Meeting with parents to inform about the need for registration and about the plan. • Deliver blank forms to be completed by a doctor. • Interview for registration as a person with intellectual or psychosocial disability. • Interviews and educational and employment profile to each person with disabilities. • Make derivation of the profiles to the National Institute of Employment and Professional training to access courses.
Strategy 2:Support people with disabilities during training and employment. Activities: • Track participants who are conducting courses • Curriculum interviews and job profile after completing the course.
Strategy 3: get employment Activities: • Contact companies to make job inclusions • Perform sensibilization on disability and job inclusion in the company. • To provide employment with support to the participant who accesses employment. • Monitoring and progressive withdrawal of medium supports when the worker gains autonomy.

Monitoring Bi-weekly meetings between the technicians of Pronadis. Monthly meetings with adult school teachers to advise on paperwork Monthly coordination with vocational training teachers Monthly follow up meeting with students. Evaluation - Compare the changes in adults school before and after the action plan. - Indicators: number of PWIDD who: obtain registration, begin vocational training, get employment.
