The Preconstruction Meeting • Why do we have to do this? • The preconstruction meeting gives everyone involved a chance to sit down, discuss the specifics of the project and voice their concerns, so that all have a clear understanding of what is going to happen.

Change Orders • Why do we need a change order? • A change order revises the contract to establish quantities and unit costs for work that was not in the original contract
Change Orders • What does a change order look like? • It describes the additional work. Many times this requires a drawing be part of the change order • It explains the reason for doing the additional work • It establishes the cost of doing the additional work • It revises the contract time
Change Orders • What do we need to do to make sure we are reimbursed for this additional work? • Provide an unsigned copy for review • Provide an independent estimate of cost • Needs to be within 10% • Get verbal approval • Under $10,000 Aeronautics can approve • Over $10,000 requires FAA approval
