Goals for 2010-2011 • Goal 1: Continue to work with the University Center to integrate programs, services, operations, and facilities • Electronic Services – web page www.uh.edu/csi, shared folders, etc. • Marketing • Part of the larger staff • University Center Events Committee • Assessment • Goal 2: Identify, adopt and implement best practices • Develop guidelines for the fee funded organizations • Example: style guides and timelines for marketing • Develop guidelines for registered student organizations • Continue our high level of collaboration with other • departments and organizations
2010-2011 Goals, continued • Goal 3: Establish transformative learning opportunities • Workshops for fee funded and registered student leaders • Develop a program for the students that educates them about the university – its programs, services, and operations • Support the development and implementation of the student staff development • Goal 4: Develop and enhance cultural competencies • Initiate programming from CSI that promotes cultural competencies, includes co-sponsorship opportunities with other departments, offices, and cultural organizations • Support student organizational cultural programming through co-sponsorship • Goal 5: Maintain Effective and Relevant Communication • Develop and implement a Marketing Plan for the Center • Implement Electronic Advisor Risk Management Training • Implement Web based services for organizations
Organizational Database Management • Services currently offered by the University of Houston Information Technology (UIT) • Content Management System (CMS) – no cost • Allow CSI to have a calendar for RSO events • RSO Events could appear on a University calendar • Sharepoint (Knowledge Management System) – no cost • Database of organizational information • Organizations could enter rosters and update information • Student organization information updates would happen after approval from CSI • Streamline services for organization registration • (Possible no cost) • Collaborating with other colleges and departments to streamline RSO services • Interface with MyUH – no cost
Organizational Database Management • Services that could be built and provided in near future • Log in Process • Students log in using their PeopleSoft Number • Use for Event Registration, Organizational updates • Automated enrollment verification for Organizations Registration, making the recognition process much faster • Event Registration • Smart forms • Current contact information pulled from an active, real time database • Interface with the Event Management System (EMS)
Funding Requests for • the Center for Student Involvement • In pursuit of our mission to support the fee funded and registered student organizations, we are seeking funding for the following items: • Fiscal Year 2011 One Time Request • $18,909.00 fee dollars for the increase in the UH Administrative Fee • Fiscal Year 2012 Base Augmentation • $29,034 for two Instructional Assistants in CSI • $11,616.00 for student staff for an Event Registration Work Station • $4,493.50 for Early Voter Shuttles Program • $18,909.00 fee dollars for the UH Administrative Fee
