  2. What are fractions? Fractions are some figures orshapesthat are divided in equalparts.You can representthem in a wholeor a set.

  3. Whatis a whole? A wholeis a complete shapethatyou can divide. Herewehaveanexample of a whole. Ex: Thisis a whole. Thisis a complete partthatisdivided in 5 equalparts. Ifyou color 2 partsyouhavethefollowingfraction: 2/5

  4. What is a set? A set is an object or shapes that are separated. In a set you can find different shapes like hearts, happy faces, etc. Here we have an example of a set. Ex: This is a set. There are 5 hearts in all, if you color only 2 the fraction is: 2/5

  5. Thingsthatyoushouldknow Something I haven’t told you is that you can write fractions in word name. Here we have an example of a word name:  2/5  two fifths When you are writing fractions in word name be careful with the spelling and add thsat the end of some numbers. There are some exceptions like: half, thirds, ninths, etc. This is an example of a word name, and as you can see one important thing is that fractions have a numerator and a denominator. Ex:
