  2. Territory Siberian Tigers are found throughout Eastern Russia. This is primarily near north of Vladivostok which is a city of a population of around 500,000 people. Some Siberian tigers still exist throughout China and North Korea.

  3. What makes a Siberian tiger different from other tigers? Siberian tigers are the largest cats in the world. In addition to their large size, Siberian tigers have large manes which keep them warm in the long Russian nights. They also include fewer paler stripes compared to other tigers.

  5. How many are left? There is an approximation of about 400- 500 Siberian Tigers left in the wild.

  6. Food They hunt for their food. They usually eat wild boar and elk. Animals smaller than them are usually on the menu.

  7. How do they survive? They live mostly alone and are territorial. They survive on being independent and finding their own way. Leaving their mothers at ages two to three. They don’t have that much contact with other tigers.http://youtu.be/6fcvChSHv_M

  8. Why are they becoming extinct? Many things are happening that have led to the extinction of Siberian Tigers. One of the biggest issues is that they are being slaughtered for their pelts, bones, and organs to china and other asian countries. The tiger parts are used for traditional medicines like aphrodisiacs. Also, their habitats are being destroyed.

  9. What’s being done to save them? There are many programs dedicated to saving the tiger. Groups like the WWF ( World Wide Fund for Nature) are tracking the tigers movements and where abouts. There has become a lot of awareness of this issue.Laws are even in place to stop illegal killings of these tigers

  10. What can we do to help? 1. Donate to tiger projects! (visit wwf.org) 2. Do not buy anything containing tiger parts. 3. Buy forest- friendly products 4. Spread the word! :)

  11. Tiger Day Holiday Tiger Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September. It is a Festival in Vladivostok Russia. The true meaning behind this celebration is to cause awareness about the Siberian Tiger and to teach future children to respect all humanity.

  12. Tiger Day - The Celebration begins with a parade with over 3,000 participants including bands, school groups, and organizations. -After the parade, performances begin. These follow all throughout the evening, which include dancing groups and various contests throughout the day.

  13. Are Siberian Tigers Dangerous? - Unlike the Bengal Tigers, Siberian tigers hardly ever attack on humans unless provoked.

But sometimesthey can be dangerous There has been a case where a Siberian Tiger once attacked a man walking by and when the police went to investigate, officers found that the tiger had been hurt with a trapping device that the man had used in order to kill it for personal purposes. Later on, that man was arrested for harming endangered species.

  15. A symbol of Russia Russian Siberian Tigers are a symbol to Russia because they show the same strength, independence, and lasting. They both have withheld a lot throughout the years, but are still here trying to survive.
