  5. This is an online program we will use to monitor our checks. Random Caught Being Good points could be awarded when a student is demonstrating the character trait of the month. Our trait for September is Kindness.

Language Arts • Language Arts Program: Treasures • Writing Focus: Paragraph Development and Required Writing Pieces to include: Narrative, Informative, Opinion Reading Focus: Strategies to Enhance Fluency, Comprehension, and Thinking Within, About, and Beyond the Text • Spelling: Spelling City due each cycle.(Leveled) Paper assignments available.

  7. Math • Math homework distributed daily • Envisions Math Program website: www.pearsonsuccessnet.com See log-in information • PSSA preparation using 4-Sight and Study Island throughout year

  8. Social Studies and Science • Notes in 3 ring binders should be used for test preparation. • High interest topics • How can you help your child study? • Index cards for vocabulary words • Ask child what they did in class that day

  9. Common Core Assessments (PSSA) • Begin March 18th • 4h grade will take reading, writing, and science assessments

  10. Band/ Orchestra Lessons • Responsibility of child to get to lessons and make up the work they missed • ½ hour per week and home practice time

  11. Friday Folders • Purpose: Keep you updated on child’s progress • Every Friday they will come home with graded assignments • Please sign and return folders • Some papers will stay at home and others will be returned

  12. Volunteers Needed • Please let us know if you are interested. • If you wish to volunteer at any time throughout the school year, you will need to have your clearances submitted to the office. • Forms available in the office
