Fitting Methods • Use Monte Carlo to determine Resolution Function • Fit – Addition of: • Signal: 3 Gaussians with independent means and widths • Background: Threshold (Argus) • Real Data Signal • Signal: Breit-Wigner Convolved with (MC Resolution) x (1 + ε) • Background: Threshold (Argus) • Resolution Function Parameters from MC • Means allowed to float using a common offset, to account for difference between MC and RD mean • (1 + ε) used to allow for scale difference of resolution between MC and RD • Carol Fabby BaBar Physics Jamboree University of Cincinnati 24 April 2010
Examples of Typical Fits and Pull Distribution Plots • Carol Fabby BaBar Physics Jamboree University of Cincinnati 24 April 2010

Results • 101.27 keV + _______ +_________ • Unanswered questions • How will resolution change with non-signal MC added to current cc MC? • How will fit change with a set offset value? • What is causing the systematic variation in the pull distribution plots? • Carol Fabby BaBar Physics Jamboree University of Cincinnati 24 April 2010
