  1. Síndrome de Túnel del Carpo • Es una compresión del nervio mediano en la muñeca. • Produce dolor y adormecimiento en la mano, mas intenso por la noche. • Ocurre en personas que desarrollan actividades manuales intensas como pintores, obreros, secretarias por el uso del “Mouse”, puede suceder por el embarazo, como secuela de fracturas de muñeca etc. • El tratamiento inicial es: Analgésicos-desinflamatorios, soportes de muñeca, infiltración con cortisona, fisioterapia. • Si no hay mejoría con lo anterior puede ser necesario liberar el nervio a través de una pequeña y sencilla operación. Es una cirugía con anestesia local y ambulatoria y usualmente da resultados de mejoría inmediatos.
