Before Alexander’s conquests helped to spread Greek culture. The kings who came after Alexander also tried to attract the best and brightest Greeks to Asia and Egypt. They hoped to recreate the glory of Greece’s Golden Age in their own kingdoms

Pay attention to how they used architecture, sculpting, literature and theatre to improve. List at least 5 examples. PHILOSOPHY – PAGE 184 Main Idea: Epicurus and Zeno showed the world different ways to look at happiness • List and describe the different Greek ideas about happiness. Then write how they were alike and how they were different. GREEK SCIENCE AND MATH – PAGES 185-186 Main Idea: Hellenistic scientists made major discoveries in math and astronomy • List all the major discoveries in math and science and the men who contributed to them.
